I also bought a kindle edition so I could read this 600 page plus novel that borders on today's headlines. I found it analytical, precise, well documented and with characters that keeps you moving towards annihilation? Or, rebirth?

The story stops in completion, but I hear Stark has more to say on this matter. I am looking forward to that day.

A good read although not having the sequel you're left hanging.
Very interesting read. The president and Vice President having sex is a interesting idea. A good read for administrators and crisis plan managers. What would you do?
Well written, fast paced. A good "what if" scenario, more plausible now than when written. Waiting on book ll. Where is it?
A rather scary scenario. It is completely possible for this to happen. I had to stop reading as my thoughts got wrapped up in the possibility of what happened, and what would we do if this did happen? I truly hope that it never happens. Mr. Stark has a eye for the future, good writing, good story, believable characters`.
May Day is a complex, thought-provoking story about the aftermath of a nuclear attack on the World Trade Center. With great detail and realistic characters, Thom Stark shows the impact and how it brings out the best and worst of human nature. It kept me riveted. Well done!
I could not put this book down...started it one day, finished it the next.

Parts of it made me uncomfortable (as I think it was supposed to) - the situations, the language, the story - but it was extremely engaging and the multiple characters kept me interested in seeing what happened next. Definitely page turner.

I found this very enjoyable, and am looking forward to book 2!
"May Day" is very well written and provides both a fast-paced, compelling narrative with a large cast of interesting characters, and a wealth of information about nuclear power and the role of government in dealing with emergencies. Even as I was caught up in the action at hand, I learned a lot from reading "May Day" about various aspects of nuclear power and explosions and general government policies for handling unusual circumstances. Such detail enhances the narrative, and never burdens it or slows down the frenetic pace of unfolding events. I highly recommend this book.
