Ok I admit it..I love romance and I am HOOKED on this series. I can't believe somehow I missed this authors books. I like they way they somehow try to avoid their fate then try and find out they are not complete without each other. So being the read-a-holic I am I had to scour all the bookstores and Amazon to find them all. I'm not going to give away the plot for you, readers, if you have found them get all and sit back and enjoy an amazing love story. Now I am waiting for the next installment can't wait for it!

good book by Robin D Owens, always enjoy the Heart series..
I was so disappointed with this book, tt could have been so much more! I felt Celta is decaying in this story, there was too much negativity and not enough substance. The characters were wishy washy - not a good place for Primross to be, and one of my favourite characters, TQ, was just obnoxious. Don't know I'll be continuing with this series..
I really started getting into Robin D. Owens not that long ago. But the stories I have read sucked me right in. Just enough detail but not overdoing it! Loved this story, and no doubt will love the more stories I read.
Great detail about a different world that still has so much in common with ours. The Soul mate concept it central thought--relationships that 'must' be, but even then there are problems....DUH!!! LOL But I do love the series--have read them all in order & it helps keep things building & characters straight in a complex society
In this latest tale from the planet Celta, Garrett is a private investigator who has his own form of Baker Street irregulars with his feral Fam informants. His investigating duties are put on hold when he agrees to be exposed to the Iasc sickness in order to help provide a cure for it. The last time this horrible disease appeared in a town on Celta, only Garrett managed to survive. Surviving a second time is not guaranteed. As fate would have it, his HeartMate Artemisia has volunteered to be the sole Healer who will take care of him during this hazardous medical experiment.

Garrett doesn't want to have anything to do with Artemisia. He lost his lover in the last epidemic and he doesn't want to go through the heartache of losing another woman he might love, especially a HeartMate. Not only does he have to fight the disease but also his attraction to Artemisia.

Artemisia doesn't understand why Garrett rejects their connection. But when a murder occurs that links Artemisia and her family to a murderous cult from their past (the scandal cost them their standing among the Noble families), it's Garrett and his band of feral Fams who can save the day. If the disease and the murderer don't kill him first.

Fans of this series will enjoy the characters' interactions with sentient houses, the numerous Fams, plus an interesting scene of what couple's counseling is like on this delightful world. And, of course, the romance between Garrett and Artemisia.
I really enjoy how Robin Owens presents her characters. She has the young, the immature, the struggling to get by, the rich, divorced, the talented. In this book Garret is a private detective, struggling to get by. He has suffered a terrible loss of his first love and many close friends to an epidemic. The anguish he struggles with isn't overblown, it's presented so you understand and don't blame him for not wanting another relationship. Both he and his intended have suffered and their coming together, the help of the TC residence and fams was wonderful. The feral fams and Garret's working with them was new and well done. I wouldn't say this is my favorite book in the series. What I missed was more mention of past characters and what they're doing in their lives. We get a brief glimpse of a few but not enough to sink our claws into. As for the fam healer. .. Nice to see one of her children continue on in her practice. Love the coons. I doubt Artemisia knows just how wild those critters are! Too bad we didn't get a close up run with the kitten through the rabbit holes. I could picutre his joy in the chase!

Two things I would have liked to see concluded. One was closure on the Mugworts getting their name cleared. They've suffered for 16 years, the criminals are now all caught, case closed, others that were impacted have gone on with their lives but this family is still shunned. Garrett could have asked for this as his reward for solving the case. There was mention of Garrett being able to name his price for taking this cae. I don't think resorting his heart mate's family to their title would be too much.

Then there's Healer Heather (T'Heather's daughter) that comes across as unforgiving, always right, and not worthy of her position. I would have liked her incompetence pointed out and the error of her ways. She needed a dressing down to be more caring and humble -- Icing on the cake if Artemisia's mother would be working in the healing halls again. - Dan's wife
I have to confess that before I saw this on , I had visited a book store in Corinth MS that happened to have most all the books that Robin Owens had published. The sales clerk there had read them and recommended the series. I read one, and went back and purchased all the books by this author they had, plus they ordered the three they didn't have for me. I was real excited to see this one on and had to have it too. It definitely lives up to the standard. Great book, and if you read one, you will want the others. The world she creates is fasinating in detail, right down to the laws that rule the land. Makes you wish you could visit this planet and stay for a long while, just to get to know the people and visit the places she describes.
