What can I say?! The author's enthusiastic overuse of exclamation marks would have had my seventh grade English teacher in fits! It was, at best, distracting! As annoying as that was, the only reason I decided to write this review was the fact that this work was compared to those of Rowling and Rice. This book read like a Joe Friday, "Just the facts, ma'am," police report compared to the poetry and prose of those two masters of their genres. They created rich, beautiful new worlds for their readers to lose themselves in. This author created a chaotic office building. The main character was unlikable and wishy washy. "I don't want to be a hero!" "But I want you to be a hero!" "OK, I'll be a hero!" Blegh! The only reason I read the entire book is that I hate it when people comment on a story after only reading the headline. Towards the end of the book I caught myself caring about the storyline for a minute, then I was back to wishing it would just end. And end it did, just as flat as the rest of the book. This author needs a brutally honest editor and a new marketing team.

A new author to watch as he grows into his world building. Excellent read for those interested in dystopian/ urban fiction.
